بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ
الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ، الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ، مَالِكِ يَوْمِ الدِّينِ ،      إِيَّاكَ نَعْبُدُ وَإِيَّاكَ نَسْتَعِينُ                  
      اهدِنَا الصِّرَاطَ الْمُسْتَقِيمَ، صِرَاطَ الَّذِينَ أَنْعَمْتَ عَلَيْهِمْ غَيْر  الْمَغْضُوبِ عَلَيْهِمْ وَلاَ الضَّالِّينَ

(1) In the name of Allah, the most gracious, the most merciful. (2) Praise be to Allah, the lord of the universe. (3) The most gracious, the most merciful. (4) Master of the Day of Judgment. (5) You alone we worship, and [from] you alone we ask for help. (6) Guide us [to] the straight path. (7) The path of those on whom you have bestowed your grace, not of those who earned [your] wrath, nor of those who have gone astray.

The key to understand qur’anic Arabic and the original meaning of the words is your knowledge of Arabic grammar, we will be using surahs or verses from the Quran, preferably the ones that you memorize or you are familiar with. The topics we usually cover with students with limited Arabic grammar knowledge is nouns and verbs, how to differentiate between them and how to use them in a sentence, we will study the meanings of the Arabic alphabet, and how to use them with verbs and nouns, the functions of the taa marboutah, tanween, case endings, emphatic and non-emphatic letters for proper pronunciation, and verbs conjugation. Verb forms will be covered and their masders. Active and passive participles, prepositions, relative and demonstrative pronouns. No textbook is need it, but you will need to take notes and draw some tables for illustration.

Duration: Five consecutive classes per term. Lessons take place once a week and last two hours each. This gives a total of 10 hours tuition.
